The National Council of Teachers of English & The Conference on College Composition and Communicatio

If you are teaching composition or writing, the NCTE is the first professional organization you should consider joining.  NCTE says about itself: “Since 1911, NCTE has worked to advance teaching, research, and student achievement in English language arts at all scholastic levels.” In addition to all of their resources, NCTE is integral to the the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC)—a yearly gathering of compositionists from around the nation.
