Administrative Insight:  Blogging Boundaries & Pseudonyms

Once again, more sage advice from Dean Dad about blogging.  Whether you are a graduate student, adjunct, or tenure track professor, this advice is relevant.  Honestly, there are a lot of anonymous academic blogs out there.  Here is one; here is another; and here is a third.  Compared to the number of anonymous blogs, I have found far fewer academic blogs written with transparency.  Nels’ is an excellent model for those.  Mommy, Ph.D. has her own brief discussion on blogging pseudonyms here.

I suggest you bookmark Dean Dad’s advice.  If and when you are thinking about blogging, reread it.
